The Wedding

Just head to our website and fill out the RSVP form. Make sure to use the exact name that’s on your invitation so we know it’s you. It only takes a minute, we promise!

We wish we could invite everyone’s favorite plus-one, but our venue has limited space. Only those who received a formal invitation from us will be able to attend. Thanks for understanding!

As much as we love the little ones, this celebration will be adults-only. We hope you can enjoy a fun night out with us!

We’re thrilled to celebrate our special day with you! The ceremony will take place on a beautiful terrace overlooking the ocean so no need to worry about your feet getting sandy 😉

Absolutely! Think small bites, a full buffet dinner, and an open bar flowing till 10pm. Come hungry, come thirsty!

Plan to arrive by 3:30pm. We’ll be kicking things off shortly after, and we’d hate for you to miss the main event!

Nope, just your finest attire, your best dance moves, and a big ol’ smile. We’ll take care of the rest.

Yes! On Friday, we’re heading down to the beach for a relaxed get-together. Nothing fancy, just good vibes. Saturday morning is wide open, but we may put together a casual outing for anyone interested. And when the reception winds down, we’re planning a late-night after-party… location still TBD!

During the ceremony, we’re keeping things unplugged and ask everyone to silence their phones. Don’t worry though—we’ve got a pro photo team capturing all the magic. After the ceremony, snap away! We’ll even have disposable cameras to help you capture the fun.

Lodging and Area

Great question! Uber in the city is super cheap and runs 24/7, so you don’t necessarily need to stay right in downtown Heredia. Honestly, hotel options downtown are a bit limited—but we’ve got a few good ones to recommend!

If you do want to be right in the center of town, this is probably your best bet:
Hotel América. Other options that family have stayed at and enjoyed are
Hotel Bougainvillea and
Hotel Terrazas de Golf. If you feel like being fancy, this is where Monse and I go when we want to feel a little “VIP”: Marriott Hacienda Belen

Both Heredia and Manuel Antonio are generally very walkable and safe. Just like in any city, stay aware of your surroundings and use common sense—especially at night. But during the day, feel free to explore on foot and enjoy the local vibe.

Plenty! Manuel Antonio is one of Costa Rica’s most iconic destinations, and for good reason. You can explore the famous national park, where you’re likely to spot monkeys, sloths, toucans, and other tropical wildlife while walking through lush rainforest trails that lead to stunning beaches.

If you’re feeling adventurous, there’s ziplining, horseback riding, ATV tours, and whitewater rafting nearby. Prefer something more relaxed? Spend the day at the beach, book a massage with an ocean view, or take a sunset catamaran cruise complete with snorkeling and dolphin spotting.

You’ll also find great local restaurants, fresh seafood, and a laid-back vibe that makes it easy to enjoy the pura vida lifestyle. Whether you’re into nature, adventure, or just relaxing with a cold drink in hand, there’s something for everyone.

Travel
You’ll want to book your flight to Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), just outside San José. It’s the closest major airport and a good jumping-off point for getting to Heredia and Manuel Antonio.
All you need is a valid passport. Just make sure it’s valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates. No visa is required for citizens of the US, Canada, and most European countries if you’re staying less than 90 days. They may ask you where you are staying and when you are departing, so it doesn’t hurt to have that handy. Just tell ’em you know Chris, and you’ll be good to go.
There are a few options: you can rent a car, take a private shuttle, or even catch a domestic flight to Quepos if you’re heading straight to Manuel Antonio. We’re happy to help arrange transport—just let us know when you RSVP.
Yes! We’ll have shuttles running on Thursday and Friday from Heredia to the wedding venue (there might be a small fee, we’re not 100% certain yet). On the day of the wedding, we’ll also have late-transportation for hire that can safely take you back to your hotel. More details will be shared closer to the date.
Most major carriers offer international plans that cover Costa Rica, or you can enable roaming. Wi-Fi is widely available at hotels, restaurants, and public areas. If you’d rather use a local number, SIM cards are cheap, but as Chris says, “don’t do that, way too much of a pain”. Go with an E-SIM if your tech savvy enough.
The official currency is the Costa Rican colón (CRC), but US dollars are widely accepted, especially in tourist areas. Just bring small bills and expect your change in colones. Credit and debit cards work in most places.
Only if you’re coming from Europe or other parts of the world. Costa Rica uses the same outlets and voltage as the US and Canada (110V, Type A/B plugs), so most of you gringos can just plug right in without fear of exploding your precious I-phone. 🙂
