– Monse & Chris –

OUR STORY

Monse’s Take:

Chris’s Version
We met at a dumpy chinese restaurant, after chatting for some time online, and felt an immediate connection. The food was surprising good! And I remember specifically telling Monse that she felt like someone I had known for years, someone I could be best friends with.

Since that evening, our story has unfolded across borders and landscapes. We’ve traveled to fifteen countries together, built a life across five different homes here in Costa Rica, and adopted two little dogs who now rule our hearts (and our couch).

Together, we’ve grown not just as a couple, but as dreamers and builders. From small DIY furniture projects and afternoons in the garden to full-fledged buildings and homes, we’ve discovered that we work, live, and love best when we’re building something side by side.

This wedding is not just a celebration of love. It is a continuation of the journey we began that night in San José, in a restaurant with sticky tables and really good dumplings, where two people found in each other something both new and wonderfully familiar.
Our Dogs
We adopted Pipa during the pandemic, a spotted little mix of Australian Shepherd, Blue Heeler, and who knows what else. They told us she had been picked up from a house in downtown Pérez Zeledón where ten other dogs were living. At first, she was all nerves and wide eyes, but little by little she blossomed into the sweetest, snuggliest ball of joy you could ever imagine.

Then came Olivia, our fluffy “lite” white cloud with a heart of gold. She needed a home, and Pipa needed una amiga. Olivia stepped right in like a true big sister (or maybe a life coach), showing Pipa how to relax, play, and rule the house with gentle paws and perfect timing. Together, they’ve been our daily dose of love, chaos, and laughter.

And yes, they both will absolutely be at the wedding.
